Nikkei BP Donates JPY2.12 M to Japanese Red Cross Society; Supporting COVID-19 Medical Care

Tokyo - November 25, 2021 - Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. (President & CEO: Naoto Yoshida; Minato-ku, Tokyo) and Nikkei HR (President: Meguru Saitou; Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) announced the completion of their support campaign for COVID-19 medical care on this November 22. The campaign was run on their jointly-run portal website Nikkei Medical Career (https://medical-career.nikkeihr.co.jp) dedicated for posting physician job offers. Nikkei BP and Nikkei HR raised a donation of 1,000 yen per inquiry by a physician who accessed the website to search for a job related to COVID-19. The raised amount reached a total of 2,128,000 yen, which will be donated to Japanese Red Cross Society during this December.

Nikkei BP started the campaign to support "COVID-19 vaccination job offers" from June 2021 amid the fourth wave of the pandemic across Japan. Through its website, Nikkei BP promoted the posting of related job offers and invited physicians to participate in the campaign. In this September, the campaign expanded its scope to "job offers related to COVID-19" and continued support activities. During the campaign period of approximately six months, a total of 2,128 target job inquiries were received from physicians registered to Nikkei Medical Online (https://medical.nikkeibp.co.jp). In addition to raising donations for supporting medical services, the campaign contributed to securing medical professionals who played essential roles for accelerating COVID-19 vaccination and control measures. We would like to thank again the participated physicians and career support agents for their dedicated cooperation.
